Top Facial Plastic Surgeries Mt Vernon

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the largest organization of plastic surgeons in the U.S., recently released its annual report on the top plastic surgery procedures. As always, the report revealed the most popular facial plastic surgery procedures men and women are gravitating towards. Overall, more than half a million people had facial plastic surgeries last year. In this blog post, Mt. Vernon facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jonathan R. Grant, M.D., F.A.C.S., discusses the most popular of these procedures.

Rhinoplasty

The top facial plastic surgery procedure of 2018 was rhinoplasty, also known as nose reshaping surgery. Nearly 214,000 people underwent rhinoplasty to modify the shape, size and/or proportions of their nose. At Cascade Facial Surgery, Dr. Jonathan Grant treats patients desiring either cosmetic or functional rhinoplasty, or both. Functional rhinoplasty involves correction of breathing problems.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Saggy eyelids can significantly age the face. Last year, more than 206,000 people chose to address this problem by undergoing blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. This procedure can correct the sag in the upper eyelids, sagging beneath the eye, or both. The result is a much more youthful look. Many patients decide to combine blepharoplasty with a facelift or brow lift.

Facelift

Facelift, or rhytidectomy, is one of the most popular procedures among patients at Cascade Facial Surgery. Often combined with neck lift, this facial tightening procedure takes years off the face. Nationally, more than 121,000 individuals had facelifts in 2018.

Brow Lift

Roughly 38,000 people decided a brow lift was right for them last year. Also known as forehead lift, brow lift corrects sagging eyebrows to rejuvenate the upper part of the face. A brow lift can lessen the deep frown lines between the eyebrows and furrowed forehead lines. The procedure can also restore the brow’s natural arch.

Chin Augmentation (Mentoplasty)

Repair of a receding chin alters the dynamic of the entire face. Chin augmentation, or mentoplasty, rose by 2 percent in 2018 compared to 2017, with 16,400 procedures performed. Many patients undergo mentoplasty with rhinoplasty, as the two procedures are an effective combination for people who want to achieve harmony and balance between the facial features.
